- Did you know?
“If no epithet is deemed sufficiently meritorious, no award will be given that year.” – Printz Award Policies and Procedures
This year’s title-holder is my personal favorite: Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta!
Abandoned by her drug-addicted mother at the age of eleven, lofty school student Taylor Markham struggles with her identity and family history at a boarding school in Australia.
(If it starts a little delayed, stick with it. It gets better. Trust me. )
- What kind of titles can/do win?
Each year there are (at most) 1 Printz Confer winner and 4 Printz Honor Award winners.
Titles can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, anthology… basically any “attribute” piece of teen literature can win. For more information on how titles are chosen and by whom, click here. I found the process to be fascinating!

A book about a teenager who doesn't talk until she discovers who she is at a boarding school...?
Jul 16, 2008 by Mysty | Posted in Books & Authors
And she writes her appointment book, if I can remember, this is how the book is set out mostly.
I read it a few years ago does anyone know the writer or book title?
Does anyone discern it? I think it was a teen - young adult book because I was young at the time.
So Much to Recount You . . . by John Marsden.
Great book, read it last summer.

Can someone recommend me some books?
Feb 06, 3456 by kenneth1070 | Posted in Books & Authors
I as a matter of fact like teen books set in boarding schools or books about school.
or historical fiction
I'm not to keen on anything with too much fantasy
please can someone give me some ideas. Even if they don't sound like the amiable of things i've said i liked, as long as there good.
Anthony Buckeridge's books about Jennings are the boys' boarding school classics. They're joyful. They may be a little young for you, not to say a little old-fashioned, without quite being historical yet, if you see what I mean. With your tastes, you should certainly take a look at one.

Where can I find acting audtions for a thirteen year old girl in the U.K?
Jul 16, 2008 by Daisy J | Posted in Theatre & Acting
I am thirteen and get along with a single parent and cannot afford an agent. I have attended a drama boarding school for four years and so I have good experience. My school does not extend many auditions for the younger pupils, so I was wondering if anyone knew if there are any recent auditions for young teens in Television and Mist. It would be great too if the auditions were in the midlands and S.E/S.W. Thank you!
The Echelon newspaper or website. Or just look out for open auditions....like the Harry Potter ones that are advertised nationally.
