Where can I get an economically priced microscope and supplies?
Mar 07, 2007 by aneal138 | Posted in Other - Science
I've been in ALOT of college proficiency classes and always took advantage of the microscopes. I love the freedom of looking at anything under one: a plant, dirt, skin, dog slaver. I really want one for my own. It doesn't have to be as expensive as the ones at school though. I've been looking at alot of options but see that they can run up a huge price.
I simply need the basics. Maybe a monocular with not an extremely high magnification, I just want it for fun. I need slides, covering slips, and cleaners for the slides. And again, as cheap as I can get. I'm a student haha. I've looked at the prices and still don't know what to pick. What do you present? Where do you suggest I look?
Thanks for everything.
Ok as for price bracket, I'd really like to stay under 100 or 75 dollars for the microscope, under 75, it is hoped under 50 for some makeshift supplies.
correction. Thank you for that great link. I found some really great deals on supplies. They're just evaluator grade and very cheap slides and cover glass. Wow. I'm amazed. I think the site I was looking at before was for professional labs not orthodox students.
Take a look here theres loads of different types to suit ur needs at what seem like affordable prices
i dont have knowledge of what ur price bracket is tho
Happy hunting

A slow school held my daughter back, how can I speed her back up?
May 19, 2007 by Acai | Posted in Primary & Secondary Education
When my daughter started reaction class she was super fast, everything was done at top speed. She was full of energy and very bright. She was doing things far in advance of most of the kids entering that school.Within a twosome of weeks of starting there she was being very naughty both at home and school, was being punished at school(made to stand outside head's office). There was a v big amt of kids with pointed needs in the class and all the kids were made to go at their speed, she became very annoying and frustrated. Then the reception teacher left. For the rest of that year the rank had supplies, different all the time.Into year 1 they had a teacher who was just out of college, this was his first job.He unfortunately wasn't very good.Half way through year 1 I moved her to a very secure school where she is happy. All her annoying behaviour has gone.Except she still operates at the speed of the old school, really slow and lazy. How can I get her back to what she was before, her fast scramble?
ask the teachers wot she is behind in and drudgery with her about it at home. if they see a improvement or see how much effort u are both doing then maybe they will reasses the situation. It sounds like shes got hand-me-down to working and learning at the old schools speed and maybe she thinks its wrong to work fast because her old school wudnt let her .Try to pep up her and tell her how good it is to work faster (but make sure she dosnt rush though)hope that helps
